Happy Holidays Have Goals Built Right In

Happy Christmas

I’m guessing that you’re probably getting ready for the Holidays.

Do you have a Christmas Tree around? Have your Hanukkah Menorah candles lit? Listening to Christmas Tunes on the radio or in every store you enter?

I’m betting it’s all around you.

If you have a goal, the best thing you can do is to make it real.

How? If you want to remember the Christmas Holiday, you’ll put up a tree, and play tunes. You’ll make shopping lists, and food menus.

Each of these things make the goal of Christmas tangible and real.

These physical reminders are designed for people to decorate, be inspired, and do something they normally wouldn’t – believe.

What are you wanting to achieve in your life or your work?

If I were you, I’d find physical ways to realize your goals. It works for Santa Claus and it would work for you.

Happy Holidays. Wishing your a strong start in the New Year.

Good post Chris. I like the idea of “physical ways to realize your goals.” I’m struggling a bit in determining mine for the new year, so that gives me a little more to chew on. One of mine is to run a half (or full) marathon, and after reading your post, I realize that one is easy for me to visualize, but the others are more vague. Need to find a way to make them more physical too. Thanks for the inspiration!

Thanks Carol. Maybe there’s a person, rather than an event that evokes a mindset for your year rather than a traditional goal. My word is cello for 2013 – to remember what I’m passionate about but also like a cello string when the bow runs across it – it resonates, and vibrates, and illuminates others who hear. When I write, cello is what I’m striving for. When I teach, cello is what I’m striving for. When I coach, cello is my focus. What tangible’s that you can setup as a reminder and inspirer for the marathon? What object or person symbolizes your mindset for your other accomplishments? See how different that is? One is a make or break – the other empowers. Thanks for the fabulous feedback!

Chris, I cannot tell you how thankful I am for your input and inspiration. You completely turned around my thinking and you are so right about not thinking in terms of make or break – I will definitely consider whether a person or idea can help me evoke the right mindset for my goals instead of just the dry words. It’s funny how with my three words, I had no trouble – they just kind of presented themselves. But when I start thinking of goals, just not happening. Looking forward to a weekend of brave dreams! thanks!

Wonderful. I think of Hollis Sigler who was an artist and advocated for breast cancer survivors and the rigors of the journey. When I think of her, I am inspired to write and do my craft. I hope your dreams materialize. Thanks for the feedback. Happy Holidays. :)
